Makai ka Thepla

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 medium finely chopped onion
  • 1 medium finely chopped tomato
  • 10-12 garlic crushed
  • 2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Haldi powder
  • 1 cup Makai ka atta (Corn ka atta)
  • 1 tsp Hing
  • 1 tsp Ajwain seeds (Carom seeds)
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1.5 tsp Oil

METHOD:

  1. Put oil in a pan and put ajwain, mustard seeds and hing.
  2. After the mustard seeds splutter put crushed garlic. Saute for a minute then add chopped onion.
  3. Saute onion for about 1 – 2 minutes then add chopped tomatoes. Saute for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add red chilli powder, haldi powder and salt as per taste.
  5. Add water and let it boil.
  6. Now add Corn ka atta and mix it properly. Let it steam for about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove in a plate and let it cool.
  8. Knead a dough and make equal balls.
  9. Roll it gently in a round shape.
  10. Fry with little oil on tava like a thepla till slight brown.
  11. Serve hot with sauce.
