Basic Bread Dough

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup heaped all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 tsp wet or dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk powder

METHOD:

  1. Sieve maida and milk powder together
  2. Add salt as per taste. Mix well
  3. Make a well (refer the video) in the dry ingredients. Add yeast, sugar and lukewarm water
  4. Keep it for 2-3 minutes for activation of yeast (blooming of the yeast)
  5. After the yeast gets activated, make a soft dough
  6. Knead the dough using olive oil (Butter can also be used)
  7. Grease another bowl and keep the dough in it. Apply oil on the dough as well (refer the video)
  8. Cover the dough using a napkin
  9. Keep it aside in a warm place for 30 minutes for the dough to rise (proving method)

This Bread Dough can be used for many recipes like Baked Vada Pav, Soup sticks, Dinner Rolls, Croissant etc.
