Tomato Shorba

INGREDIENTS:

  • 8-10 black pepper kernels
  • 2 tbsp. coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp. cumin seeds
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1 carrot chopped
  • 4-5 tomatoes chopped

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, then add all the spices
  2. After 2-3 minutes, add the tomatoes & carrots
  3. Add salt as per taste
  4. Cover with lid and cook till the tomatoes soften
  5. Then add a cup of water, and cover with a lid
  6. Remove the cinnamon stick, after water comes to a boil
  7. Using a hand blender, blend the mixture for a smooth texture
  8. Strain the mixture to get the tomato shorba
  9. Top with some fresh coriander leaves
